Lanceolatus are obtainable in Japan, with a handful in the states in the last year or so. Expect to pay about $3000. However, lanceolatus is the largest species of the genus, and packs an attitude equally as large; not a species I have interest adding to my collection. But he does have a distant cousin...
Are we talking about this one:

I was also wondering if you knew what happened to the collection of Roseafascias. I used to see them once every so often a few years ago but noticed that I haven't seen one pop up in a long time.

;)

Roseafascia are still being collected, just not in the numbers they once were. Which will probably change again at some point in the future. Most of the species which are off the beaten path will be collected for a couple years, then take a few years hiatus with a limited trickle of supply, then repeat again.

Blue Zoo had some in stock a few months ago; I'm certain at least one has popped up on DD since the 1st of the year.

Labouti is hit/miss on aggression once mature. Sometimes they can get pretty aggressive.

It would be fine for a while at least, but might require removal later down the road. Or not. You never know. :)

My experience was this too, I started with a small juvi/female and it grew incredibly fast and became pretty nasty to any other wrasse smaller than it. I can tolerate the occasional chasing but this particular fish chased other fish all day long.

My LFS has one for $60, so I'm going to give it a shot since its such a good deal. Hopefully, it works out.

Figures that the fish I've been looking for years is collected after I get out of the hobby :)

Kind of want to get back in but have been traveling a lot lately.

I only have 2 Wrasse; a blue cleaner wrasse and a Leopard wrasse. The cleaner wrasse hangs out with my Lawnmower Blenny, cleaning him thoroughly (in the mouth, the gills, everywhere!). And everyone loves to watch my Leopard Wrasse ("Escher") disappear into the sand at light's out each night!

Hey Bryan, how you doing buddy? Quit slacking and get a tank set back up.

We're missing you Bryan, we think its time for you to start a new tank!

Thanks, miss chatting with you guys too :) Glad to see you guys are still here and doing well.

I really would love to do a tank right now but I've been traveling a lot for work. For example, this week I'm in Seattle Tues-Thurs, home next week, New Jersey the week after and then San Francisco the week after that :) Still have Dallas, Vegas, Tempe, AZ, and back to Vegas scheduled for the rest of the year.

I am waiting on a job offer that would move me to Dallas if I accept it so things would likely settle down if I did that. My travel comes and goes but being busy like this is rare.

Very nice and doing dental work on top of just picking off dead skin etc .... and on a Surgeon Fish :)

Thanks Albert. He's a riot. When the Tangs get tired of being groomed, he sets up his cleaning station at the middle back of the tank. It's cool to watch the other fish cruise in for a quick groom.

I think I read somewhere BlueStreaks will pick on Acros as they get older. Beautiful fish thou!

He'll have to stand in line behind our Angels, LOL. We've had him for at least a couple of years and have never seen that behavior. For the first couple of months after we got him, he would inspect the under sides of corals (probably looking for pests), but never saw him nipping anything. We have seen him eat small snail eggs and algae off the glass though.
