It is beginning to develop it's dorsal filament and develop color in the anal and caudal fins, so it is a young male.@eatbreakfast @evolved would this be a female/juvenile? Or the picture not good enough 2 tell?
Yup!a young male
In most cases they mix well. How do you guys feel about mixing flashers with fairy wrasses
I wouldn't do it with fairy and flasher wrasses, but some Halichoeres, Coris and other genera that are more suited for fish only tanks. Even so, I would add the wrasses before the triggers, especially a trigger as aggressive as a clown.Just asking, but I seen a guy have 9 wrasses and 3 triggers. 1 clown,1 blue jaw and other I don't know, now is that OK or is that crazy and asking for trouble? I actually like the Niger trigger and the blue jaw but I thought that would be asking for a nightmare. Thanks
P.s his tank was a 220 and mine is a 160.
If the other wrasses don't seem interested or aggressive towards the others than the eggcrate can be removed without worry.I have a 150 gallon tank with halichoeres poeyi, melanurus, and garnoti. A few weeks ago I used egg crate to separate out 1/3rd of the tank to socially acclimate the nargoti and a smaller halichoeres ornatissimus. The smaller wrasse I noticed can fit through the egg crate, but I have only seen him do so at night when the tank was quiet. My question is... do I remove the egg crate or leave it in until the smaller wrasse is bigger? He is 1/2 the size of the next 1 up.
I do, and the coexist acceptably, but the johnsoni is certainly dominant.Wondering if any one have a pintail with Johnson's in same tank. If so do they fight.
Thank you brother. I'm going to try one then wish me luckI do, and the coexist acceptably, but the johnsoni is certainly dominant.
Unfortunately that's not unusual when adding a new leopard to an existing one, but hopefully it will calm down. If it doesn't after a few days one will probably need to be removed.Just tried a leopard wrasse with another one that I had for few yrs and it's not going well
