I just introduced a Kole Tang to my tank and my McCkoskers is now in hiding. Is it normal for them to be timid when a new fish is introduced, or do i need to already start watching for aggression?
It depends on the fish that is being added. In most cases a flasher isn't bothered by a new addition, but sometimes larger fish will intimidate them, and that may be what you are dealing with. However, hiding can also be an indicator of aggression.

What is this wrasse. I have been drooling over this picture. I really really want him. How much was he and where did you get him. Thanks Mike
Right, it's Macropharyngodon/Halichoeres lapillus, and that's a "her" (female). Availability is sporadic, as they're Mauritian endemic.

While they don't QT, the only QT you should trust from any vendor is your own. ;)

Oh boy was picking out some asteria starfish off my rocks and I heard a flapping noise. So I took a quick glance and a count of fish and of course the most important/rare one isn't out so I'm worried. Freaking out i look behind the tank on the side I was on and nothing there so I'm ok. But looked on the other side just to be sure. Wow!!! Just in time. My EARL wrasse is laying on the carpet...*** hope he pulls thru. He swam to the bottom into the rocks
Came home and feed the tank and he was there eatting like a fat kid eats cake. He's all good!![emoji16][emoji106]

I understand, but really, is $200+ an "Everyday low price"? Be it for a female or male? I'd look in that section expecting to find nothing more than $50

got my rhomboid, balteatus, and royal flasher in, but late thanks to fedex.

last night rhomboid looked like she was struggling and pushed around. balteatus and royal flasher went into hiding instantly.

woke up this AM, balteatus is dead, rhomboid is in the corner struggling, and royal flasher is hanging out with the tangs...sigh...hooded and flame wrasse have both been pigs too.
