DOA. Just don’t have luck with fish from wholesalers. Some wrasse are better not sitting and being flipped at a wholesaler and choats is one of them. That said this wholesaler has good luck with choats. Took the chance as she was supposedly tiny. Little bummed but also relieved

What is y'alls favorite store to order wrasses from? Looking for radiant and pink margin fairy wrasse. No luck around here at LFS stores.

Thanks for your help!

Considering swapping the carpenter for another more peaceful wrasse suitable for 3’. He’s becoming too aggressive and the scale damage on the Pink Streak makes me think it might be time. This is day 3 and it’s getting better though it might get infected but the little one is resistant.

What is a good wrasse or couple of wrasses to start off with? Currently I only have a pair of clownfish in a 5 ft tank.

I would say the yellow wrasse (h.chrysus) is a good one to start with. Commonly available, not too expensive, fairly hardy, always out and about in the tank and nice bright yellow. Peaceful towards all other tank mates really.

Just my two cents worth, but other more experienced wrasse keepers may have other ideas

Thank you. So this chart is only for Fairy compatibility? Is there one for Flashers? Sorry if I'm not reading this chart right.

Flashers are easier. They almost all get along

If you can get a healthy leopard wrasse, that's one of the best picks for any tank 3'+ in my opinion. Ticks all the boxes. Beautiful, great character, peaceful, eats really well once comfortable, active. I would probably say Macropharyngodon is my favorite genus of all aquarium fish.
