The Wrasse Lover's Thread!

Oh I would love a Fairy wrasse...just wasn't sure if it would be compatible.
I don't know about Fairies (I think that's @JoJosReef 's area?) but I believe they should get along with your fish. I'll let the experts chime in though.

@Jenyphur is that a 3ft or a 4ft long tank? @Slocke has a nice marked up chart for fairy wrasse compatibility. You might do well with a medium-aggressive fairy, or at least a more assertive fairy--lubbocki and the rubriventralis complex have a good reputation for that. The main problem I see is that you have a lot of rock dwelling/water column fish. So any new fairy might be battling against your established hawk/blenny/angel/gramma/clowns. If it were my tank I would add a other sand sleeper or two, and that would be a Halichoeres iridis and a pencil wrasse like a Pseudojuloides severnsi.

Circled are recommended groups. Highlighted are personal favorites

Hi, thank you for the reply. It's the 3ft version.

Thank you for the suggestions! I truly appreciate it. Those are very cute choices. I like them.

Yummies! Important part of CUC and nutrition for the wrasse

Do most of the Halichores eat bristleworms?
I've got a melanurus and a leucoxanthus and no bristleworms. Don't know if all of them do for certain though.

I have a Dusky in my 220 and Canary Top and Melanurus in my 75. Neither has bristleworms. My 40b I use as an observation tank is filled with bristleworms. Was thinking of getting a Hali. claudia for that 40b then move to my 220. But was just wondering if its something all the Hali. eat.

Canary Top is a leucoxanthus? Yellow top, pink/white belly?

Yup, thats the one. I need to get better at always using scientific name with wrasse.
Never heard it referred to as Canary Top so that was a new one for me. Pink and Yellow, Purple and Yellow, Lemon Meringue...

Talking with another member here about photography this morning, inspired me to take some better photos of my Guntheri wrasse.

Great to see someone else with a P.guentheri! I have one myself that i've posted about before in this thread. Mines about 12cm long. How is yours going? I'm interested to hear about the tank size and tankmates it has and how it's behaved if you don't mind.

Looking forward to seeing this live long. That’s a ton of bumble bees. Got vermatids?
I’ll be curious to. I didn’t qt her so that gives her little chance in my eyes.
Nope the picture was from lfs and he keeps them iwith inverts as his fish tanks all run therapeutic copper, prazi/metro.
