Amazing wrasse! Where did you find it?Shot some new pictures of my Terelabrus wrasse today. It’s been such a great fish - extremely curious, friendly, never bothers anyone, and often teams up with my yellow wrasse to peck at the rocks and sand. It sleeps partially buried in the sand under a rock at night.

Candy Corals had one available a few months back! Was eating everything right after it was delivered too, one of the easiest fish to QT :)Amazing wrasse! Where did you find it?
NopeAnyone have any recommendations for Wrasses that can survive in smaller tanks & will not decimate a pod population.
I love my 6-Line but it has been impossible to add any pods to my current main tank display because of him lol
Alright I just flushed him and ordering a pink streak wrasseNope
That’s what kind of what wrasse do. Just toss the sixline and get a pink streak because I’m biased
None that I know of! They are laser precision pod hunters, all of them!Anyone have any recommendations for Wrasses that can survive in smaller tanks & will not decimate a pod population.

I'm keeping my eyes out for this one!Candy Corals had one available a few months back! Was eating everything right after it was delivered too, one of the easiest fish to QT :)
The 6 line has the potential to be an aggressive maniac and attack other wrasses and other fish. I would just keep that as your only wrasse or trade it in and get a few mild mannered wrasses. Depending on your tank size.Alright I just flushed him and ordering a pink streak wrasse
twas but a joke, he still is gobbling up the 30 dollar pod bottles I add to the tank as fast as ever (lol)
Is this the 20 gallon with the hawk and gramma as well? Pretty aggressive lineup. I would avoid adding any wrasses to the tank. Wait for an upgrade.
Still too small for wrasses other than pink streak. How about scissor-tail dartfish or firefish? You can consider an aquaculture mandarin that eats mysis so you could keep it with the pinkie. @Slocke or @JoJosReef has one iirc.I have a new tank 25 Gallon lagoon. I just finished cycling lol or at least Ammonia hit 0. Right now all it has is copepods and some nassarius snails so I can drop in some food to not let the bacteria die out. My goal is to keep a mandarin. I added a ton of pods have two in take refugium spots but I was trying to find an active swimmer fish to add with the Mandarin. My LFS said a wrasse but I know most decimate the pod population (at least in my experience) I am culturing tisbe pods and also plan to get a captive bred who eats frozen/pellets but pods is just a supplement.

I thought about a fire fish but I have heard they are very shy. I haven’t looked into the dartfish but that seems interesting. Even though I’m getting a captive bred one. I really do want to make sure that I have pods in the tank so that it can feed throughout the day.Still too small for wrasses other than pink streak. How about scissor-tail dartfish or firefish? Firefish can be shy but quickly brave up. Mine have been front and center once confident.I thought about a fire fish but I have heard they are very shy. Never had pinkies in a 25, but I think one would work. It will voraciously eat pods. The mandarin will as well, so I recommend a Biota mandarin. I doubt you will sustain a pod population in a 25 (AIO?) unless it has a fleshed out sump and daily phyto dosing.I have a new tank 25 Gallon lagoon. Good recommendations for a firefish or dartfish. In a 25 with smaller fish they will be out more. No clowns? I would also recommend a Yasha goby and pistol shrimp. Have a very good lid with small mesh. The IM lids aren't ok fire firefish, gobies or especially dartfish. Aak me how I know.
You'll have a really cool biome with a pinkie, mandarin, firefish/dartfish, shrimp goby and who know, maybe a possum or a rainford!
). The other side I have a Skimmer and then a Caddy for carbon, cycle material, etc.Wow! Nice bubbles too.I do love me a possum wrasse. I love how wrasses swim but I may wait on them for now to see if my pod population dwindles with just the mandarins. No clowns as I have them in my two other tanks & in my office tank. I saw the Lid has very large openings so I actually layered a much finer mesh over it. Right now it is just taped even though there are no fish in there yet (lol). I will probably cut it so it lines up better & may super glue it to the Lid. We shall see.
I do have an in tank fudge basket dug into the sand with Chaeto (see below), a pod hotel (see below), and then I have two back sections of the tank with fudge baskets with Chaeto as well one larger one next to the return on the IM lagoon and then one smaller one (see below). I was also thinking of smashing up some extra rock I have and layering it up against the back wall so that there would be places the pods can go that the fish would not be able to get too. I have some extra dry reef rock but not too sure how I would go about breaking it apart without an accident lol. Maybe a hammer will work (). The other side I have a Skimmer and then a Caddy for carbon, cycle material, etc.
The Larger one is this one.

The smaller one looks like this but It only has a top & bottom insert.

5 Star service of course!

In the tank I also added this black hexagon structure. I added some chaeto & rock rubble in the middle and flipped it & dug it into the sand so hopefully the pods will have an in tank area/refuge. I know when the fish are small they may be able to fit in there but my hope is that as they grow they will not be able too. I may take this one out if I do not like the look of it.
