I'd kill for a store that got cool fish in, all my store gets in is bread and butter.

Its the only one in my area that is like it. The owner is a younger guy, and a Wrasse freak, which helps :) His main display tank is full of Wrasses. Otherwise, most of the other stores in the area think a Purple Tang is a big deal :)

Here are mine. A pintail, two lunate (the female of the pair is now a sub male) a choati, and a biocellatus. Sadly, my earli died last week after two years with me.

Great collection, and my apologies as well on the earlei. Your lunates are actually johnsoni, fwiw.

A LFS actually. Gets in all kinds of goodies :) Same place I got my M. choati & pair of P. bellae. Recently had in a half dozen P. attenuatus (I already have one though), and a supermale C. cf lanceolatus (again, already had one).

In good conscience, none. Open top = no wrasses. All wrasses are jumpers.

There is not a fish period I would recommend for an open top tank. Even Lionfish have been known to jump.

Not sure; I know he once had three and they all sequentially died at the one year mark.

That could be what I was remembering. One year for the fish in question is a "decent amount of time", unfortunately.

I would draw the comparison of Anampses lennardi to Macropharyngodon choati. Both Genera of Anampses and Macropharyngodon are considered to be on the delicate side and within these Genera there are species that are even more sensitive. Coupled with the fact that neither is collected as frequently as many of their congeners and their increased price prohibits many hobbyists from just taking a chance or experimenting with them. But as we have seen more and more are having success with M. choati I would venture to say A. lennardi will be kept with greater success in the not too distant future.

I just ordered my shark naoko wrasse!! Couldn't say no I got it for 65$. What's the easiest way to catch a wrasse. I have one I want to move to a different tank...

I am working on bringing up a 36" wide 30" front to back 27" tall mixed reef tank. I will have a sand bed. Long ago when I had a tank I had two wrasses which I do not remember the species but one cocooned at night and the other buried itself in the sand bed. I enjoy the bright variety of colors in wrasses and would like to add two or three to the new tank. I ran across a radiant wrasse the other day which I thought was incredibly nice. Is there a good guide on keeping a mix of wrasses available out there? Are there tricks to keeping the colored up nicely? Anyone have a nice recommendation for 3 colorful and compatible wrasses including a radiant?

Trap. I use my Reef Gently small acclimation box. Get it in the tank a day or two ahead of time. Then put its favorite food in and wait. I have used a turkey baster to get the food floating if it does not go in.
