He's my favorite out of my 3 wrasse's stays out in the open on top of my rock. The malanarus and leapord kinda hide a bit more. He just wanders around like my clown fish do. Very happy with his personality

I am sure I am overstocked on this tank and the purple tilefish are probably too delicate for me to try but below is my wish list for the tank I am setting up. I want to stock with wrasses that will be compatible with each other and other inhabitants including the shrimp and crabs, keep good coloration and stay somewhat affordable. May I ask you to look over this list and let me know what you think? I haven't decided for sure if I want a sand burying wrasse like the H. Iridis or not but i sure like their appearance in person.

Tank size = 36” by 30” by 26” about 120 gallons
Sump + a standalone 37 gallon refugium
Mixed reef - not my tank but I was inspired by this layout at http://i116.photobucket.com/albums/o...hotocopy-1.jpg rearranged a bit with less LPS and with an area for various monitpora.

1 Radiant Wrasse (Halichoeres iridis)
1 Pink Margin Fairy Wrasse (Cirrhilabrus rubrimarginatus)
1 Red Head Solon Fairy Wrasse (Cirrhilabrus solorensis)
1 Naoko's Fairy Wrasse (Cirrhilabrus naokoae)

1 Lawnmower Blenny (Salarias fasciatus)

1 Pink Spotted Shrimp Goby (Cryptocentrus leptocephalus)

1 Yellow Watchman Goby (Cryptocentrus cinctus)

3 Purple Tilefish (Hoplolatilus purpureus)

1 Yellow Eye Kole Tang (Ctenochaetus strigosus)

2 ORA Naked Ocellaris (Amphiprion ocellaris)

3 Scarlet Skunk Cleaner Shrimp (Lysmata amboinensis)

3 Sexy Anemone Shrimp (Thor amboinensis)

1 Bubble tip anemone

3 serpent stars

1 Florida Fighting Conch (Strombus alatus) from reefcleaners.org

Quick Cleanup Crew with Snails and Hermits from reefcleaners.org

Thanks,
Bob

Bob I think you would be fine with those wrasse. I have 4 firefish and a purple firefish with 10 other wrasses and no issues. I want to get rid of all but two of them but they're tough to keep!

My radiant wrasse has been hiding for two weeks almost (not unheard of but disconcerting I wonder if he's alive).

In person I think they're gorgeous and they have awesome personalities.

I have a question. My LFS has a beautiful Mystery Wrasse. I've love to get it, but I'm not sure it would mix well with my other wrasses. I currently have 2 Leopard Wrasses and 1 Carpenter Flasher Wrasse in a 57 gallon tank. Would the Mystery and the other three be ok together. Also will the Mystery bother clams?

Pseudocheilinus wrasse don't usually get along with other wrasse ( and sometimes other fish). I would think that would not be a good idea. They are beautiful but not worth the limitations they force on you with their nasty behavior. I want lots of wrasses not just one!

Thank you. That's what I suspected, but thought I'd ask.

Youri. How do you like the Potters Wrasse? What's the behavior like? Feeding?

You didn't ask me, but mine is fantastic. Easiest of all of my leopards I have tried. (Black leopard, regular leopard, blue star leopard females, blue star leopard male, potters, and ornate leopard). Some say they're difficult.

This AND mine had a damaged bottom lip from transport, still does but eats like a pig and is thriving. I've had her for a few months, and I wonder if it will ever heal properly.

Oh great to know. I'm looking at adding a wrasse to my tank, and I want to make sure I make a smart choice.

Can you tell me more about what you feed, how often, etc? Any behavior issues?

Mine has no behavior issues and is with many other wrasses (several leopards as mentioned). When I can I feed 3-4 times per day small feedings. On weekdays it's more like one or two.

I mix 10+ Frozen foods in a cup, microwave for 1:45-2:00 and then strain/drain the water. I then add 10 parts Garlic Guard to 1 part Selcon. I feed this for a week or more (I have three large tanks so it doesn't last long for me haha). I also feed Nori in each tank, spectrum pellets a few times per week, and formula 1 and formula 2 flakes occasionally.

I also treat with prazi when I add new leopards, as they often have internal parasites that cause trouble, and can bring flukes to your tank (as most angels and other fish can as well). Flukes are tough to ID but can wipe tanks quickly. It's also 100% reef safe except for feather dusters (although it never bothered any of my feather dusters it does say that it is not safe for them).

PraziPro is my product of choice. I have everything from SPS and LPS to Anemones in my tanks.
