I am getting three leopard wrasses this morning, and can't decide, do I quarantine or not. I am very leery about treating with Prazi Pro in my reef tank. I have a mixed reef with LPS and SPS. What do ya'll think? I did ad some pods to my QT last week.

I have not seen too much of an issue with leopard wrasses in qt, nor have I seen issues of Prazi in a reef with LPS or SPS. It really comes down to what you are comfortable with.

I'm always an advocate of QT.

If you can add a good sized piece of live rock that's well seeded, I wouldn't much worry about pods.

You should be fine adding them, though there are instances of leopard wrasses not liking other leopard wrasses it is usually aggression between males. Just use an acclimation box to observe interactions before adding.

After a week the little Geoffroy's did great! They were very active and ate everything, so I followed your advice and placed them in a acclimation box to observe. I saw no agression at all, only a very curious male showing-off.
Couple of days after the introduction now and they are doing great and are swimming al together side by side.

My LFS has a Potter's wrasse that's eating frozen (I've seen it with my own eyes). I usually use tank transfer followed by 4-6 weeks in a cycled QT with two rounds of Prazi. Is that ok or should I put him in the cycled QT and watch him there, treat with Prazi and not do any preventative for Ich? Picking him up Thursday.

I brought the camera out of hiding Monday and focused on fish; but I haven't pulled the photo to the computer to edit yet. :P

Thanks guys, deep down I knew that was the right answer ...determined when I chose a difficult fish. I've just worked so hard and been so meticulous about my QT for the last 2+ years it's hard for me to not treat preventatively for Ich.

She is in QT and looks good. I was a little worried when she didn't dive in the sand immediately but she is swimming well and just seems to be exploring the QT tank.

Thanks Hunter, I just got a new camera, well new to me. I did the same as you but only got to edit one. I don't have the lens for coral pics but it does ok for fish.

Woohoo! My Potter's ate every frozen blood worm in a 1/2" chunk (from a flat) just now. She still spits about half of my LFS frozen out after ingesting it but it's a little less each feeding. She had lost a lot of weight at the LFS since I first saw her and I was worried. Feeling a lot better after the way she's pursuing food out of the water column.

How much nutrition is there in frozen blood worms? I'm guessing not much. Hope to use it as a bridge to more nutritious foods.

Better than you would think. Feed her live black worms. Exponentially more nutritious and no leopard has ever turned them down.

Just PayPal [email protected] and give them your address in the notes and they'll ship em. Don't buy more than you need, I have four tanks three are 6 footers LOADED with fish and I can't finish 1lb.

They need rinsed in cold water daily to keep alive. I keep them in the bag. Refrigerate. Simple stuff fish love them it's great for their natural oils that they can't get on other foods.
