My LFS has two Anampses geographicus in stock at a really good (I think) price of $24 Cdn. Both fish are fat and eating mysis out of the water column.

There doesn't seem to be much info available for this fish, although fish base lists the maximum size at 31cm - too large for my 120G tank. Just wondering if anyone has any experience with this fish. I'd guess that both are juvenile, they both have a pretty dark coloration.

They get huge and grow fast. I also feel they are possibly the ugliest Anampses available.

Greenstreet: Yes, they both have the two spots on them.

TJ, the little that I've been able to find on the fish lead me to the same conclusion.

The LFS also has a juvenile Halichoeres hortulanus in stock. It also appeared to be in good shape and was eating with gusto. Unfortunately, it also will get too big for my tank.

I'm wondering, are the Blue Star Leopards less hardy than the regular leopards?
Are they more of a risk to ship?

Not really. Meleagris and bipartitus are likely the two best shippers of the genus and about equal with another.

I've read through this thread and have done lots of online surching, I've become a wrasse lover. Question is where to begin? I have a 40 breeder with a few small fish, royal garma tailspot and a couple of clowns. Looking for small and peaceful wrasse to start with. Thought about a redfin, then read about aggression so I don't know, where do I begin?

Yup, totally agree! :)

Also a good one to avoid in a reef tank too, unless it's a massive tank.

Not I just need a radiant wrasses and a royal Pencil Wrasse. Maybe a Yellow corris

Here are mine from today. The pink margin is always pecking at the baster I use to feed and looking up at me at the water surface when I remove the screen top. I've also noticed he is the first fish awake in the morning and last to go to sleep.
