I love it
but some reef keepers says its not reef safe

Only thing at risk is some small clean up crew and even still some won't touch any at all if well fed. Replace your CUC annually at the most!

You had meleagris in both areas, so kinda. :)
ornatus terminal males get really green compared to females & submales.

Reef safe-ish. More-so it's too bad that it fades to a drab olive as it matures and often gets a nasty attitude too.

C. bathyphilus is a rather peaceful species, it shouldn't cause any issues. Species from Vanuatu are more desirable than those from Australia, but the price reflects that.

I've got a big male that is fairly relaxed. He's about fourth on the ladder behind a rhomboid, labouti, and rubrisquamis

He developed the darkened scales as he matured.

Yeah, it is too bad they turn green... so beautiful as a female/juvenile.

Around a year, she was super tiny, much like my female rhomboid. I got her with a male that got lazy and died all of a sudden.

Most of these fish have been with me for 5+years. The male rubrisqumais was sourced from PIA way back in the day and was fairly large when I got him, fully mature for sure. If I had to guess he's at least 8+years old easily.

She indeed is, she always has a gut on her. I feed nori 5/7 days on a clip before a work, my auto feeder feeds 2X a day with spectrum pellets and every night I like to feed 2ish cubes of mysis, LRS reef frenzy or other frozen. Funny is the most aggressive feeder is my potters wrasse, he beats everyone to the party.

I have two, a sub male and a female. Both seem to do well, the submale was chased by my terminal pintail for the first week, now he seems indifferent. My flame started at a similar size.

I noticed very early this morning (right before lights kick on) that my small (and newest) leopard wrasse (m. meleagris) looked to be very lethargic. She was face first in a small rock crevasse with the water flow swaying her around. She was still alive and I had to go to work. Haven't seen her since. I imagine there are several possibilities, but does anyone have an idea of what could be going on?

I realize this is not the proper thread for this but I know this thread gets a lot of traffic from the wrasse pros.

How long have you had it? It is surprising that it isn't buried. Perhaps it is still gettused to the lighting schedule and was up before the lights came on.

Another possibility is that it was too weak to bury, though generally in that case it will be laying on it's side on top of the sand.
