There's something fishy about this build...

Did you let your wife drive?
This, for note, was your daily dose of casual misogyny.

Sorry... the joke was too good to pass up.

Well, detritus! My old eyes are detritus without my glasses.

Are you filling your hot tub with RODI?
With the waste water. Don’t care if there is extra chlorine.

Though turns out there was a major leak soo

This is a good idea! It always irritates me how much water I send down the drain, I should really invest in one of the water saver pumps...

Bummer on the leak. Hot tubs are great until you have to maintain them.

Yeah…
After less then a year of use the water temperature sensor broke and it took forever to get a new one but because we couldn’t turn on the heater the pipes froze

Ugh, brutal. When we were house shopping a few years back a couple of our ideal homes had pools or hot tubs, and while I would love to have one or the other (ideally both) I suuuuper don't want to deal with the maintenance headaches that come with it.

Hopefully it's an easy fix on the leak, even more hopefully it's under warranty and somehow covered.

you still waste water... its just pressurized now... no, in all honesty, once you get the pump, then you multi-stage the RO so the waste from one feeds onto the source of another for another pass at the filter. You can chain a number of them. you just need to make sure the valve at the end is the rated one.

My hunch is that; like batteries, you can run them in series and in parallel.

Oh yeah, pressurizing it would allow me to daisy chain RODI units together. There would still be wastewater no matter what, but you could presumably lower the waste by introducing as many systems as your pressure would support.

I maybe fixed it…
Looks like the repairmen we hired to replace the broken pump tried to use a pipe that was about half an inch too short. But instead of getting a properly sized pipe or adjusting the placement of the pump or heater he tried to force them together at an angle.

That's gotta be a code violation... or did you feel violated after paying the bill?

Woooooo
My parents, teachers, employers, girlfriends, normal friends, acquaintances, enemies, and random people on the internet were all wrong! I’m not completely useless!
