thinking about getting a smaller system

im considering getting a smaller tank instead of the big i have now. currently i have a 48x18 and 28 ish height i think, its 110 gallons and ive lost 3 fish already, aiptasais starting to pop up and its just a lot of tank, one of my corals are being invaded with some blue clove polyp, my kenya tree is failing.

There are some really nice AIO 40 gallon cubes by JBJ. Innovative Maine makes some great AIO at very reasonable prices. Not sure how much smaller you want to go though.

I’ve kept big tanks and small tanks. My current tank is only 25 gallons. My opinion is that small tanks are not necessarily easier, lots of trade offs.

Problems in big tanks can become big problems that require a lot of effort and labor to correct. You can tackle a problem in a small tank with less effort. For example, I could scrub my rocks and change 50% of the water in my current tank much more easily than you could in yours.

That said, I find stability in smaller tanks is harder to achieve. It is doable, but I found it much more challenging and there was a whole new learning curve for me.

I was thinking of probably staying with the 48x18, either getting a 60 or 75
