I have a 180g display with about 300g of total system volume.

Im considering getting a mandarin goby for the tank. My only reservation is I have 2 pink streak wrasses so there is a hit to some of the pod population. I have a bunch on the glass from time to time during the day as well as see some big ones at night. I think it would be safe but would like to hear what you guys think.

Assuming your pink streaks are eating other foods and you have a refugium? Are you planning for a captive mandarin? I think that should be more than enough volume to support pod populations for all three. I would just watch and if you start to notice major decline in the population to add more.

Buy a captive bred one from Biota. I have a male and female pair in a 47g, and they eat frozen (Rods and LRS) and pellets. I only feed 1-2 times per day. Then you don’t need to worry about the pod population too much.

The only issue is that they start off super small (about 3/4”). So you might want to keep them in a separate tank until they get a bit bigger.
