So I've got the 160w razor on my 40b mixed reef. up until now I've had no real complaints about the fixture, however, I'm not particularly pleased with the colors I'm seeing, especially during the midday time period.

So I got to thinking maybe I should add a t5 on either side of the razor..question then becomes what bulbs??? coral plus? Blue plus? Actinic?

All opinions welcomed!

I just recently added 4 t5's to my 40 breeder to work with DIY LED's. The bulbs I added were all ATI and I used 2 Blue Plus, 1 Purple Plus, and 1 True Actinic. The t5's run about 6 hours and the LED's run for 10 hours. I did turn the LEDs down about 50% of what they were running prior to adding T5's. They have been running for about 2-3 months this way and my corals look a lot better and the color really pop.

I used these videos to help me figure out what colors to choose.
