I opened the box to my Apex I purchased a few years ago. Was taking pictures of it to sell since I’m never going to use it. Upon looking at it, I noticed the ph probe was dry and this piece of plastic looking thing this was stuck inside the prob opening. I’m assuming this probe is toast and this was the liquid that was stored in the rubber cap?

Could be the cap that retained water or the skirt of the probe.
Is it toast ?
Try to calibrate it and see if it reaches the 7.0 or 10.0 (whichever pouch you use)
