My one frogspawn has been acting very strange and has been very closed recently. I just dont think it makes sense. Reason being he does have a new head coming in and my other euphyllias are fine. Just wondering what you guys think.

New head isn’t an issue.
The picture looks blurry but the polyp extension looks poorly, but I can’t tell if it’s going to mush up and go Brown Jelly Disease?

Here’s a link for treatment options if that happens because if it happens in your tank then all the other lps will be at risk.

Hopefully it’s not, we need a clear picture of the head from the top down in white light to see what is happening.

Well idk if its getting to much light because when the lights go off the polyps are tucked in but the walls of flesh go up ill get you a top down picture.

Lights were out for like 2 hours see how in the 3rd picture the walls around the skeleton went up.

If it looks like most of the other ones I think it’s fine. Problem with BJD is when it comes you have a day or two before it is too late to treat the sick head. And once it starts killing it seems to move on to the next and the next, so I was asking for pictures to see that you don’t have it, hopefully. Not asking could waste valuable time if you do, so I ask just to make sure you don’t.

You are correct that they can look unhappy with light, or current or just being new and getting adjusted to the new environmental conditions. The others look fine so I would think they are all good.

How long have you had it there? Did it ever fully extend? What par is it under? What par was it under in the store? What is you PO4 and nitrate?

As this piece is within rocks, can be as simp[le as lack of flow. I see recession of tissue and not brown jelly disease. They require moderate flow and light and feedings of mysis shrimp in lieu of powdered foods such as reef roids. Assure even though others are looking good that phos levels have not become high

which may be an indicator of elevated nitrate or phos with a response to water change

Think i should do another one right away or wait till i usually do em which is every week
Accurate test kits while many argue Api are and water changes will be your best recourse to assure good water quality
