So I just wanted to get ur opinion. I have a 75 gal fowl setup. I have been thinking of adding some fake coral decor into the tank. What are you thoughts on this. Just curious. Would love to add some more color to the tank but not sure if I can do it. Any input would help. Thanks

As long as they are reef safe and you like them, go for it. You are going to be the one looking at the tank, not us lol

OK thanks just wasn't sure if I could or not. Is there anything in particular I need to look for as far as what I can get for a saltwater tank?

I would just make sure they say it's for marine aquariums. Other than that be aware that some of the fake coral has a ton of really small areas that could grow algae that typical grazers can't reach if you don't keep the water conditions good.

Get some turbo and Astraea snails and they will keep your synthetic corals clean. You might be able to get away without manually cleaning them or at least cut it down to maybe once every 6-12 months.

Was just thinking about fake corals again. There are some nice one's out there that cost as much as the real thing. It would be nice to have some corals that can't die. I just don't think they pop like the real thing.

I have a wartskin angler tank I put Living Color fake corals in; I previously kept a reef for anglers. You see they keep their nice colors when there is color in the tank for them to imprint on; I didn't want the maintenance of the live coral.

It's ok but I'm not completely sold, although I get alot of compliments on the tank.

Looks pretty good. I'd add some more. Some nice acropora would look great. But I like the simplicity of the tank as it is. Those fish are hiding well.

Have you priced the Living Color pieces, not cheap. Tank does look nicer since I put in black sand and you can see the coraline algae starting to grow,

I know they are expensive, as much as the real thing. But, there is peace of mind knowing that you can't kill them.

I prefer using rock and making cool overhangs and caves. Considering the price your better offer getting that purple rock (reef saver, or walt smith), IMO natural look is always best.
