I have a 6 month old 13.5 gallon nano tank. My daughter and son love my tank and they keep asking me if I could ever get a starfish. I just always tell them no. But I was doing research and saw micro brittle starfish and I wanted to see people experience with them. If they are hardy for small system and easy to keep?

I have micro brittle star fish all over my tank from hitch hiking, you basically never see them lol only at night once lights are out . But I think you could get a normal brittle starfish, I have a red one and it is very pretty still hides but not as much

I probly have thousands in my 135 gallon tank. I see thrm only at night and only their tentacles come out of the rocks to catch food. You best bet to see a atar fish woyld be to get a sandsifting starfish.. but in a small tank like that it might die from lack of food.

I have a normal star fish actually a nardoa species rarely seen in aquariums, hes in my 135g i see him out all the time. Hes been alive for nearly 2 years. I dont feed him anything he just eats whatever he eats in my tank. But i bet hed starve in a smaller tank.

They eat left over food so pretty hardy and will multiply , I would recommend IPSF if you want to buy some

Normal serpent or brittle stars do great In tanks and are really cool scavengers. It’s pretty cool when you do see their long arms sticking out of the rocks!
