I like to use the titrator and glassware from the red sea pro kit with the salifert reagents for Mg.

I like to use different brands to cross-check ALK - Hanna ALK and Redsea ALK. Yesterday i tested 8.4DKH with Hanna and about 8.3DKH on Redsea. If this pattern changes I'll know its user error or something is causing faulty readings. When I first started this practice my ALK reading was about 3-5DKH of Hanna and redsea readings. Making the slightest adjustments to the 10ML syringe can influence the reading and in the beginning having something to compare to is helpful.. I'd definitely recommend this to new hobbyist trying to get a handle on ALK.

As long as we're talking test kit, remember that when they say to fill to the a line on the glassware, the line should be at the BOTTOM of the meniscus (curved shape water makes due to surface tension)
