FOODS AND FEEDING – The Threadfin Butterflyfish consumes marine fish, crustacean flesh, mysid shrimp, and frozen preparations. This species will also eat aiptasia, glass anemones, fanworms and other invertebrates. Should be fed a minimum of 3 times per day.
REEF COMPATIBILITY – No. Diet includes a variety of corals and invertebrates.
CAPTIVE CARE – The Threadfin Butterflyfish will accept most foods offered in captivity and a varied diet is a must. This species is one of the more aggressive members of the butterflyfish family. It should be added to the tank last. Can be kept singly or as a pair if tank is sufficiently large and both specimens are added to the tank at the same time. This fish will be aggressive towards members of the same family and fish with similar coloration or patterns.
