Hi guys,

I’m in the process of building a new tank (8 x 2.5 x 2.5 feet) which will be in-wall, builder is proposing to build the stand in timber using Spotted Gum, he says no special treatment is required but I’m not sure that’s correct.

Stand doesn’t need to look pretty but I’m just concerned about humidity, what do you guys think?

Thanks!!

Gosh, I'm no wood or construction expert but if you look at DIY stand threads it sure seems like most people just use regular green treated construction grade lumber. My 750 G is on a DIY stand built this way. By your location it looks like you are in Australia so your supplies may be different.

Starting to look like this, half way but it should be finished next week, they are going to put some oil and still trying to figure out if anything else is required as it’s meant to be already treated.
