How much longer to keep this trachy? Has been in downward spiral for 2 weeks? Should I get out of tank before it pollutes it or is there a chance to save it yet?

personally i don't give up until there is only skeleton left. and event then i usually put that in a low flow low light area in hopes it comes back to life.

water parameters? tank inhabitants? any recent changes to the tank?

I had an alk dump 2 weeks ago that caused precip event along with very low msg. Theres cpl other threads about it. Everything else in tank is fine so far. I had 1062 mag and 262 calc and 9.9 alk.

Got everything back stable now but trachy is not well. I wouldn't expect it to be tho either.

I've never really heard of dying corals polluting a tank, that shouldn't happen, and there is still a lot of colour and life left in that coral IMO
