5 month old 33 gal mixed reef. Had a terrible bacterial bloom at about 2 months that would not go away for about 5 weeks, added a uv and gone it 2 days. Now 2 months of crystal clear water and want the uv to go away? I removed one many years ago on another tank and never noticed a difference. What is your experience when disconnecting a uv?

You should be fine to disconnect it. You may see the water isn't quite as clear after some time but otherwise, nothing much. I would keep it around though in case of another bloom.

Also had some type of bloom in my early stages. Everything cleared up .. Never took my offline on the 50 cube.
I keep it in there for preventive measure, just incase.

Happy Reefing
