Anybody have a clue what they may be or eat? I am aware this is rather vague lol... they are tiny (like half the size of this comma----->), flat, and black...I tried to get a picture but they don't show up... not sure what they eat... I have a live rock cooking tank for when I need a new piece and noticed they came in on a small piece of that. any ideas....

Oh a picture would do wonders to id it.
If they move around with a flat body almost with a "v" shape then they are flatworm.

If there black little dots and you can't scrape them off than that is coralline algae they usually start like that when you put in uncured rock or new plugs made of coral I had this happen a. Few times and scared the hell out of me cause I went through the flat worm nightmare three times already, that's why I dip everything before it goes in the tank. Now if you can knock them off with out scrapping hard then you got a critter or maybe eggs.

.

expand...
Here is the first step
Fill a clear dixy cup half full of tank water.
Grab a few of these guys and place them into the cup.
Now make sure the settle down on the surface of the cup
Draw up 1ml of peroxide (3%) and introduce into the cup.
Give a gentle swirl to get the peroxide mixed
Watch them close!!
Now report what they do and after an hour report their health.
:-)

Yeah but you can't do that in your tank.

What I explained above tells me the resistance of that particular species. Thats how I figure tank dosage plan :)
Interesting. Tank dosage with peroxide or something else?

I have none to pull out to try this with but @Sabellafella may. My only dealing with them was dipping new corals.

Do we know if there's guys are live bearers or egg layers or some of each?

Yup tank dosing with peroxide
There are 2 kinds, eggers and dividers
Level of infestation determines days of dosing also

I have not seen any since October or so. Not sure if they were something that could only survive in the dark nutrient poor conditions in the rock cooking tank or what the story is... but it seems they did not survive long in my display (hopefully)

Thanks in advance

What is the population like?
A dose of FWE will show population but if it's a high amount can be toxic to the tank.

@twilliard theyre all very scattered they don't group up didn't know what it was until I pulled my coral out of the water and saw them move. Can't tell if I have a lot of them but should be okay I'll do a WC and use carbon
