Stress is a common theory. but I'm more curious as to why they split if they're stressed.

Alright. This topic again.

Will we find scientific evidence regarding, probably not as anemone doesn't speak our tongue.

Common sense dictates, in my mind, as any species that can clone itself does so to strive to live indefinitely, immortal, therefore assuming this is the case here as well.

Or
Maybe the asexual reproduction in their brainless, nervous system, (that can't mutate btw), like any other animal causes this just for fun? Pleasure?

Ill just go with your dominating the world theory for now. There is more scientific written evidence of the moon splitting.

Possible they clone themselves as well in perfect conditions, as sand dollars do, as well to take advantage of.?????

My RBTA has split now 3 times but the three I have kept are all healthy and beautiful. I kept the original and the first clone. Then the original split and I sold the clone. Most recently the 1st clone split and I couldnt get the new guy out before he settled in. If they are splitting due to stress or for survival you would think there would be a death sometime. Mine just keep growing to about dinner plate size, then split.

Both?

Maybe one particular clone species, generations long can only maintain a certain size, hence a split. Too many possibilities.

Im my particular situation, I believe it was stress. It was just mad, if it could only talk. Both are great now....go figure

Isn't one of every living things main purposes in life to reproduce? Anemones could be like us in the sense that most of us reproduce at a normal rate, some not at all, and others need some birth control to stop already.

Hahaha....most shouldn't.

Anemone reproduce asexual and sexually, so wouldn't cloning be different?

I really know nothing about anemones other than the 2 I bought have lived and both have recently split. They must be using stem cells to reproduce. I heard the doctor that does that lives in Mexico though...
