I'm sure most, if not everyone already know this. I cant believe I've been in the hobby for over 7 yrs and never tried it. But the other day I was going to clean my glass on my light fixture and its usually so hard to get the water spots off with out actually taking the glass out of the fixture and cleaning them outside.
Then I remembered that plain old vinegar and water would do the trick and would be safe to use.
I couldnt believe how it took the waterspots right off the glass.
I just dampened the rag with water and then poured on some vinegar and used that. and couldn't believe how easy it was.
Like I said above, most everyone already knew this, but I thought I would throw it out there and let everyone know that its a great way to clean your lights.

No worries Brad. I only JUST realized that I can mount tunzes on my overflow since the magnet on the "outside" is the same as the one on the "inside", therefore BOTH submersible :D

Well in my defense, now that I'm past the ripe old age of fifty, Its hard to teach old dogs new tricks.

Brad actually were in the same boat! I never thought of that either and just left the spots! LOL!

Wow I'm just finding this out!

I've only been in the hobby a year and a half now though ;) haha

Thanks Brad!

I appreciate the tip.

I had always taken the glass out, cleaned it with glass cleaner, thouroughly rinsed and rerinsed it, let it dry and then replaced it.

So, YES, THANKS!!!!!!!

What was the tip again???????????? I know I wrote it down somewhere.

I'm good at being stupid, so I'll add to this:

what works to remove water spots/salt spots from the metal reflector inside a light fixture? Will the vinegar trick work and not affect the reflector at all?
