Right now I have 2 mp40s and 2 gyre xf280s in my tank. Two mp40s on the back, those are fine. 1 280 on each side, one horizontal one vertical. I want to keep the right side clear for viewing, so I’m actually thinking of no powerhead on this side. Problem I’m having is I have to have the xf280 pretty low, otherwise it sucks in air, or causes too much surface aggitation, which causes a lot of noise in my overflow. Where I have the 280 positioned though, it’s directly hitting some prime real estate for sps. I’m actually considering selling the gyres and buying one or two Neptune wavs and putting them both on the left side, this way it isn’t such a direct blast, and I can kind of position them where I want. What do you guys think?

Why not get 2 more mp 40's?
That’s what I originally had, four. Three of them were too loud for me, so I sold them and bought one brand new. Decided to try the xf280s. Not sure I really like the mp40s on the side, kind of limited to where I can place them so they don’t just blast rocks. The fact you can point the wavs is appealing...
