I've seen the soft tissue on my two clusters of candy cane's shrink or shrivel in the last couple of days. I tested that water and the only parameter that's gotten out of wack is the Phosphate which is at 0.28 ppm. I'm doing water changes to bring this back to normal.

Does tissue shrinkage/shrivel make sense in a high phosphate environment, or do I need to be looking for other causes?

Thanks in advance!

Do you have any pictures? It is hard to say for certain, but my guess is some sort of major swing in parameters or change to the conditions (such as lighting or flow) to the tank.
