Yes, but don't place it directly on the acrylic. Put it in a holder or something. Even those horrible suction cup holders they come with will work.

Thank you for your response, first time with acrylic and a sump.. little nervous upgrading from an all in one JBJ 45, to a 100 gal Nuvo int. So I greatly applicate the response..
