To much flow?

It could, but it normally just shrinks them up. It would have to be some pretty heavy flow for it to decide to release... then again, they just let go sometimes anyway.
 
Well this is whats happening in the tank.I changed power heads from a Jebeo WP 25 to a XF 230 Gyre.I started with the flow at 50% and now i am down to 30%.I have had about 6 mushrooms do this in the last few weeks.These are mushrooms i have had for 10 years.
