After cycling for 3 weeks I decided to go bare bottom. Without thinking much I drained all my water from my display and most from my sump. With the little media I had and the left over 2 inches of sump water I refilled my tank with fresh rodi and remixed my salt. Before doing this my ammonia levels were almost gone but still .25 -.4 ppm/ my nitrite was .5-1 ppm/my nitrate was 40 ppm ...now my levels are all showing zero . I don’t know whether I need to re add ammonium chloride and try to quick cycle again or just restart the cycle fully? or should I just leave it the way it is and start phantom feeding...? Please someone help .

Add something (like ammonia) and see how quickly it becomes nitrate and then decide what you need to do.

Where the rocks in this version the same rocks in the other set up?
Did they dry out during the change?
How long had it been running before you changed it?

Define "ready to reef"

....Like going out and starting to buy quite a few corals and $100 fish?

N.O.

There are sooooo many factors that make up a ready-n-mature tank that a college degree in Marine Biology is offered at Universities

You need at least 6-9mos to allow dozens of biological factors to set themselves up in your ecosystem well beyond a couple if nitrogen cycles

Want fast results? Take up motorcycle racing. Lol!!
