Toadstool attachment method help

I got this neon green toadstool and it’s been fine in my tank whatever. But my huge issue is attaching it. I’ve tried glue, it pops right off. I used a looser rubber band and my urchin stole it. Used this orange one that’s slightly tighter but he stole that too, so I doubled it up so there’s no chance. so, is this TOO TIGHT around my toadstool? Will it split in half? Will it rip? it’s such a fine piece I don’t want it to split in half. Here’s a pic of it not rubber banded.

The most difficult part of securing soft corals is finding a way to hold them in place until they grab on and stay in place.

Glue almost never works and wedging them or banding them can work but current flow, urchin disruption and other things can quickly ruin our plans for their attachment.

So let’s say that the current effort is going to fail and trust the coral to spite me?

Good luck, it seems like a good try and if it fails you can try again with two. Once they get attached they will grow quickly and then you will have to frag them to keep the tank in order.
