I’ve got two possibilities
1. A fish is bugging it during the day
2. Your lights are too bright
I can’t say any more without knowing what fish you have or the light, coral placement light settings etc

So for lights 2 hydra 26 ab+ setting
Fish 1 foxface 1 porcupine puffer 1 copperband 1 pyramid butterfly
Placement of the coral is middle in the center

Those lights are pretty powerful depending on where in the tank the leather is. Also, any one of those fish could be poking at it, all are not known to be completely reef safe with some being outright not.

Porcupine puffers are notorious for picking at corals and I don’t know the intensity of the AB+ setting but hydras could be putting out too much light

I adjusted the lights and the toadstool seems to be doing good right now. Yeah my puffer doesn’t mess with any of the corals

Had a friend tell me the same thing about his puffer. How they never bothered his leathers. Till one day it just swam up and chomp it was gone. He lost every coral in that tank.
