Toadstool leather growing down

Anyone have a toadstool leather grow down? Not sure if it's flow or lighting?

Wow, that's odd. I have had some that grew in weird directions to avoid other corals, but once they were moved they righted themselves.

Are they being blasted with flow?

Might be too much light.

I have a wavemaker on one side of the tank but have two sure tanks that go off randomly on either side. They are pointing into the flow but I would think they could do the same thing growing up. They've been in the same location with the same light for over a year. They just started doing this about 3 months ago. I have another bigger green toadstool on the other side of the tank under the same kind of light growing totally normal.

Very strange... it does appear that as they have gotten bigger they are retreating from the light... curious experiment i might do if it were my tank... cut the stem on one since it is so long and see if it grows polyps out of the stem only part... as long as you leave the peice with polyps attached it should heal from the experiment.

It started as one. It has moved around the rock and left babies. There are now three larger ones and more on the way.

Mine does that every once and awhile I don’t know why though looks like the head shrinks and the stem grows long. And it’ll lay on the sand then it starts to look like a toadstool again. It’s weird.

Leather do act weird. I'm sort of new to them but now have 4 different leathers and they all act weird at different times.
