My friend was breaking down his tank so he gave me his toadstool. But for the past few days it hasn't fully extended. Anyone know why?

This is what it looks like

Probably sulking. Mine took almost a week to open after adding to my tank. Also they shed occasionally and will look like that. What are tank parameters, light and flow?

My parameters are perfect. I've got strong lighting. And moderate flow

Does it happen to look glossy at further inspection? If so its shedding which is normal.
