I have a toadstool that has popped off a couple of new shoots onto the same rock that it resides. These new stools are less than a half inch tall now. The "parent" is about 6 inches high with a head about 6 in diameter.

I would like to get these new stools off the rock and onto new rocks. How is the best way to remove these stools and attach them to plugs or rocks?

Cut them with a sharp blade or scissors.

You can put them in a bowl with rubble in the lowest flow area of your tank and let them attach. Or you can take some fishing line and tie them to the piece of rock you like. Back when we used to walk to school in the snow we simply stabbed the frag with a tooth pick and and placed that where we wanted, we also used rubber bands. Point is they take a lot of abuse, will stay closed for a couple days and then recover nicely.

Don't bother with glue, they slime up too much.

Thanks. I was unsure and did not want to kill the little buggers.

If I cut them at their base will the base remains grow?
