Just purchased a tomini tang and it has a scratch on its side. I have it setup in a quarantine tank and did a 30 min methylene blue bath. What other things can be done to help heal them?
Did it get scratched when the store caught it up? It looks like it could also have the start of some minor head and lateral line erosion. I would skip the methylene blue dip - unless you know the dose of the MB. 30 minutes is too short to be effective, and catching up the fish for the dip is likely how the scratches happened in the first place. MB is really an old school treatment - there are better antibiotics that can be used now days. Minor scratches like this often heal well with no treatment.
