Okay. Let me know if these pics help. I cleaned it out a lot and changed the water level. Definitely seemed to work. Not really dirty anymore.

Regarding the water level, is this good? The water level in the main tank is about 1in lower than the top of the gates. First compartment 1.25in lower than the top of the separator between compartment 1 and 2. Middle compartment water level about 1 in lower than second compartments. I feel like this water level is a bit too low. The return nossels are somewhat out of the water now lol

Nem0, that water level looks perfect. The water should stay the same level in all compartments, except for the middle one with the return pump. Skims the surface too. Nice tank!!!

Great! makes me feel better. what do you mean except the middle one? are both the outside compartments supposed to have the same level and the middle less?

The compartment with the return pump in it is the only one that will fluctuate as water evaporates. It could start at about the same level as the others and that’s ok. But as water evaporates it will go down while the others remain the same.

That was the problem! No water movement in the back because the level was too high.

As Brett said above, the water is only going to move in the pumps section in the last compartment.
