Too many pods?

So here's what I'm wondering i had a self sustained pod population in my tank, but recently got velvet in my tank and it killed all of my fish, so now I'm going through the 90 day follow fish free and im noticing tons of pods EVERYWHERE lol and there getting big.
So question is can you have too many pods I still have over 45 days with no fish.
