Too much light?

Added a radion xr15 to my 24x24x24 tank. Not to long ago. The few corals I have seem to be super happy with the change. But one particular hammer coral seems to be pulled in a tad bit. There are 2 hammers fairly close to each other and the other seems super happy with his new light. I’m hoping to rent a par meter next week from my LFS. But until then, do corals show an immediate “hate” toward bright light? Or does it take a couple days to show they are unhappy with the sun above their head?

Depends on the coral. I have a catalaphyllia that's first to go and normally expresses it's dislike to lighting changes within 24-48 hours.

Are you using the XR15 in conjunction with other lights?

If changing lights or spectrum significantly I always knock the overall intensity down 10-20%, then raise by no more than 5% per week to give corals time to adjust. Contrary to popular belief, most LPS can survive for months under very low light.

How similar are the hammers? Any chance they're at war? Is there any sign of bleaching where they're closest? If you suspect light, you could move the more sensitive specimen to the sand bed or even a slightly shaded area.

No other lights other than the xr15. The hammers are different sizes but spaced pretty far apart. I honestly kinda just slapped the new light on there and gave no time really to adjust. But they seemed to have loved it at first. They were bigger than I ever seen them
