Top down picture thread!!!!!

Hey guys I went a little crazy with my new phone and a home made porthole (6" PVS with acrylic botton ;) ) and took a few good top down shots, so figured I would start a thread.

Everybody knows that different colors are apparent on all of our corals and clams depending on the perspective. I personally love top down shots, IME the corals tend to look more like they do in person. but they can be a pain to take, well more of a hassle, but well worth it IMO.

So how bout over the weekend while everyone on this site is playing with their tanks, cut off all your pumps , or break out that port hole u haven't used in months and snap a few top downs for everyone to enjoy!!!

As for how I built my potholes

I just cut a 6" diameter piece of pvc about 4-5" tall (so I could fit my dslr camera lens in it) then I just got of piece of scrap 1/4" acrylic and cut it with my dremel to roughly fit the bottom of. The pvc. Then I used 2part epoxy to glue it down (if I were to do it again I would be sure to get clear epoxy ;) ). After it dried and I tested it I broke out the Fresnel and sanded down the rough edges, and walah! Potholes for under $5 :D

I also made a 4" one, and that's actually the one I used to brake these pics, not the 6"
