Torch base fading away?

I’ve had my torch now for 5 months. It was cut off from the main colony. I took That frag and glued it to a plug. The polyp is doing amazing and just fine. However the base the skeleton has been like slowly withering away and getting slimmer month by month.
1.026 calcium 450
Nitrates 2 pho’s 0.03
Alk 9
Ph 7.8. Consistent for months. Any ideas?
