This is my torch, I’ve had it for a few months and it’s been doing so good. I haven’t made any changes to the tank and yesterday I did a 10 gallon water change out of my 40 gallon tank. Now this morning it looks like part of it is dying. What should i do! Should i snip the dead corner off to help keep the rest from dying?

That looks like brown jelly, I would put that into a seperate tank asap or you’ll risk your other LPS getting it

In my experience, once BJD starts, it's hard to stop it. Cut off the infected head and hope that the other heads don't continue.
yup that torch is a goner. By QT you’ll stop the spread of the jelly getting onto your other corals which is probably your biggest worry atm. Sniping off that corner of the head won’t do anything besides stress it out more and make it brown jelly faster.

Oh wow. Shoot. How do i prevent the jelly in the future?

A KFC dip is the gold standard for treating BJD but you don’t have time to gather all the ingredients. You could do a in tank or hospital tank treatment with just cipro, 500 milligrams per 30g but it needs to be done ASAP. At the very least you could do an iodine dip. Mix iodine in a container of tank water until it is the color of ice tea. Place your torch in for 8-10 minutes, rinse with tank water and put it in a hospital tank to avoid it spreading.

Afer loosing all of mine a few years ago googled KFC dip for BJD , after hearing such great outcomes. I have all the ingredients in a shoebox marked KFC. Fortunately I haven’t had to use it. I have done in tank Cipro treatment twice with success.
