I thought I’d share some pictures of my torch coral. I’m pretty sure a couple of the heads are spawning.

(Also sorry about the algae in the glass. I would scrub it but I don’t want to bother the coral).

Full colony but it appears that only those heads are spawning

Congratlations! That is amazing. Thanks for sharing. Follow-up pics with babies when you find them!

Resurrecting this old thread to show that the same colony has spawned again:

It’s hard to capture a good picture, but those little dots around the open mouth appear to be eggs.

I’m assuming you have a set block of lighting and nothing variable? Or do you?

Really really cool! Thanks for sharing!

My lights do have a moonlight setting that I run. It’s in my living room though, so there’s ambient lighting in the evenings.

Interestingly, I have a second smaller tank connected to my main system. This one does not have a moonlight schedule (I don’t think). I have a small colony of that same torch I took from the main tank in it. A head from that smaller colony spawned at the same time as the larger colony.

Ah yea. Dumb question. Is your moonlight just running blues at low low.

I wonder if your small tank torch gets cues through the water from the colony; that would make sense
