Greeting Reefers. So, id like to discuss peoples experiences with torch corals and coloration. They are notorius for morphing. Often, morphing upon arrival, only to morph again a month later.
I can brighten up the gold torches, fairly easily. But i struggle with fluorecent green, in particular, in torches. Lots of new morphs have the green mouths, but i find after a few months, the green has faded away, but the torches are often much much brighter in gold color, than they were.
So, i wanted to discuss, what has worked for folks to get that bright green? What kind of par are you guys using on them? Spectrum?
I have a lagoon tank, 30" wide, 24" deep 18" tall. I run g5 blues, on ab+, with reefbrites, and a single blue+ t5 that pops on for 5 hrs a day.
My params are steady, solid, im very in tune with the tank. 1.026 Alk runs 8.5-8.3 mag is 1350, cal 440-50. Nitrate 15-20ppm, phos .25 on hanna ulr.
I have tried running just blues and purples, didnt help. Ive tried lots! I just seem to chase that green color! Ill share a few pics, to show the corals look great. Im wondering if it may be a chemisty issue possibly? But i dose trace elements, esv transition, along with b ionic 2 part.. so, idk.
