My friend had a hole bitten in his welso brain by a file fish. Not a huge hole yet and it's up on top of the coral where the tissue humps up. It's been deflated for few days now and I'm not sure what is the best thing to tell him to do. Any advise? Thanks

Do you have any pics?

I would say off hand to drop it to lower lighting but I need to know what type of lighting it is under now and the placement of the coral in the tank? (upper/mid/lower)

Off hand I would say that if the tank parameters are in good shape then the welso can recover pretty easily.

PS. Welcome to R2R!

I also had a fish start biting a wellso recently. To help recovery I put it in a container with revive for about ten minutes rinsed with tank water and put back with lower light (under a shaded area). It recovered fine. If still receded after a few days you can also take them out and put in a bowl with mysis and cyclops to make sure they are getting target fed. Other alternative is to give food and put a bowl/cut off 2 liter bottle bottom on top so the fish can't get to food and it won't float away.
