Touching Corals - Glove or Bare Hand?

With my prior setup I used to slip on elbow length gloves before handing my corals. Then today I just bare handed a plate coral and some acro frags.

Got me wondering...do you bare hand your stuff or glove up?

You know, that question is probably poll worthy. I have always just used bare hands. Even with nems. I'll bet there are a lot of differing opinions though.

I try to use gloves if i need to touch anything butt the plug. I have had a not so good encounter with a cabbage leaf coral. Nice warm welts on my hand for 1/2 a day.

I use gloves most of the time. The smell of SPS especially is not the most pleasant and also for protection from cuts

Wow! What kind of urchin? I send my pink rose urchin to his corner whenever he gets into trouble, and I've never had any kind of reaction.

My first corals are coming this week: zoas/palys, mushrooms, and hammer corals. I've read a lot of differing views on this, but i'm going to keep it on the safe side. I have a box of black nitrile gloves on the stand by the tank.

Just make sure none of the powder they coat the inside with (usually) gets inside the tank.
