Hello! I've been a reefer for a long time but this is my first post on Reef2Reef.

My tank is 2 years old, but I will provide the background and historical pictures for reference. About 3 years ago, I was inspired by some European examples to do a dropoff tank. My initial concept was this - and please excuse my poor sketchup skills:

To make my dream a reality, I turned to Artfully Acrylic and Incredible Corals, who are sponsors on Reef2Reef. I decided I wanted to do an SPS tank, and I spent a long time carefully working through all the details of the build. So to not as to bore you with my narrative, here are the pics from the build:

On the big day, Adam from Artfully Acrylic delivered the tank:

I was using the old Sol Blue, but upgraded my lighting game to the ATI LED-T5 hyrid:

How do u get good water circulation in the bottom section of the tank? It looks like this could be a dead zone.

Thanks everyone for all the awesome comments! We worked very closely with TPallas on this tank and it's truly a unique piece of reef art! To date one of our FAVORITE builds that we have completed.

How do u get good water circulation in the bottom section of the tank? It looks like this could be a dead zone.

Originally, this was anticipated. The tank was going to be stocked with soft corals and such which didn't require as much light or flow. However, as you can see from the recent pics, Tom has a number of acropora and other high light/flow corals running down the "cliff front". Look carefully at the top under the overflow box and you will see two Tunze powerheads. As the tank is relatively short from back to front these powerheads create a good bit of shear flow off of, and down, the front panel.
