Question for all you brainiacs (you'll see what I did there). I have what appear to be the 2 growth patterns of Trachyphyllia radiata- the flat and the cone shapes. Placement for the flat shape is easy. For those with the cone shape, where/how do you have it placed?
- sticking straight up
- partially buried in the sand
- fully buried in the sand

Images for reference.

Looks same as mine, it’s on a plug and stands straight up

Bottom pic looks more like indophyllia but I’m not quite sure

Those are great pics. Good to see the flesh happy and full. The cone shaped one is currently on a frag plug so maybe best to just stand it straight up.

That’s how mine is. I figure the coral vendor knows how to grow them so if it’s mounted on a plug, the plug is meant to be vertical, and the coral is mounted appropriately
